I'm just not able to get into the Christmas spirit this year, so I decided to apply for Grinch school. It turns out you get assigned your own personal, um, thingie, like the one from :{MV}: - the Saint Reaper Statue.

He taught me all the Grinch tricks. Now, I just need to put antlers on my dog.

I Have a New Favorite Tattoo Shop

I've spend the last 2 1/2 years in SL looking for the perfect tattoo. In that process, I've gathered about...um...a lot of tattoos:

Tattoos that are just right are really hard to find, and don't get me wrong, I have a lot of really amazing tattoos. But, I was really excited to find a new shop called Cannibelle owned by Annabelle Couturier. Her tattoos are really well done. They're not too dark, not too light, not too much, and not too little. I feel sort of like Goldilocks when she found just the right porridge.

Here I'm showing you my favorites, the first on the left is the Yva tattoo, which was a group gift. The middle tattoo is called the Joan tattoo. It comes in black & white or full color with faded and fresh options. The tattoo on the right is called the Danika tattoo. It is one of those bright, happy kind of tattoos and it comes in faded and fresh options in black and white only.

Annabelle also makes lingerie, and I am wearing a new release called Agnes. It comes in a number of light colors and is only 59L per set and only 249L for a fatpack of six colors.

I'm not feeling the holiday spirit this year. In fact, I'm a bit of a scrooge. If I had a choice, I'd just skip the whole holiday season, but there are some awesome things going on that keep me from turning into an axe murder. For example:

The RFL Quarantine: A Postapocolyptic Hunt:

This hunt runs from December 1st to the 31st and all proceeds benefit Relay for Life. There are two paths - a human path and a hybrid path. If you want to go on the human path, start at -=Forsaken=- and make a $100L donation to the RFL kiosk at the entrance. From there, you will get a badge that will allow you to get ALL the hunt prizes from that path. There are 83 stores on the human path and 62 stores on the mutant path (which starts at Pop Tart and Urban Assault -- SLURL)

-=Forsaken=- has this "Epic bat of skull smashingness" as their hunt gift. It's probably a good idea to pick it up for this hunt. You'll probably need it.

-=Forsaken=- is also participating in the A Very Scary Christmas Hunt. Now, that is my kind of hunt! You can get this Stabby Cane for absolutely free. The hunt runs from December 1st to the 31st.

I really hate it when that happens!

Another hunt to look forward to is a mini hunt at JeSyLiLo. Just look for the letters hidden around the shop spelling out J e S y L i L o. There are skins, tattoos, clothes, and even shoes there for free!

Now, I know what you're thinking at this point. "Isabeal, those boots! OMG! They're kick ass!" And you're absolutely right. They are! They're a new release from -=Forsaken=-, and they are awesome. I might never take them off.

Vampire Slayer

The feed was apparently so much of a resource hog to the hosting service that they want to charge $150 per month to host it. Since it was just a side project that I did for fun, I'm not prepared to invest the money and time needed to keep it running. For those of you who supported the feed and were regular visitors, I thank you for your support.

I'm wearing a trio of wonderfulness today: new hair from Magika, new skin from Tuli, and a new dress from Dilly Dolls. The hair comes with a color changing hud, which recolors half the hair and can change the colors of the little bows.

The skin from Tuli comes with several eyebrow, cleavage, and lipstick options. I'm wearing the lightest tone, pearl, which looks even lighter with this windlight setting. The dress from Dilly Dolls comes in several colors. It's darling, and goes wonderfully with the Blair Boots, also from Dilly Dolls.

Another Fundraiser

The Another Fundraiser just opened today with one of the best, most creative projects in SL. Designers were challenged to create a skin or makeup using Mina Jun's (or another open source) skin. The results are beautiful, and what's even more amazing is that you can purchase a skin/makeup/tattoo for only 50L each. It's the best deal in SL and all for a great cause - to help the Red Cross relief in Japan

I'm kinda getting used to spending Valentine's Day alone. My little Chihuahua said she'd be my Valentine this year. Isn't she sweet?

I can't figure out whether or not Oriana Kuhr of Dilly Dolls likes Valentine's Day. She made these cute Oops Cupid dresses to celebrate the day, but the cute little animals all have X'd out eyes. Hmmmmm. They come in lotsa colors and coordinate perfectly with her recent release, the Stella Shoes. I paired the dress with Lolapop's new Stupid Cupid necklace (from a mini-hunt at the shop). They do tricks, and you can hold them and snuggle with them.

I have, so far, avoided the whole breedable pet craze in SL, but I don't think I'm going to be able to resist these kitties.

The Ghosts of Hairdressers Past

I took a quick trip to Little Heaven after finding the hairdresser's belt in my inventory. It's still there in the hair room as a freebie. While there, I was visited by a ghost. This ghost was angry about the failure of certain celebrity hairstylists to eradicate the mullet and their attempts to bring it back under the guise of "layering." This ghost had a secret for me, but I had to follow her into a dark hallway and down some "stairs.

"What happened here?" I asked. The ghost only laughed.

"What kind of place is this? Why are you taking me here?" I received no answer.

"Did that bag just move?"

The ghost blew past and into the water while laughing maniacally.

Afraid and apprehensive, I followed. I needed to know more. I needed to find out where the ghost was leading me. So, I carried on. Further and further down until I finally realized where I was being led.

It was a room, long forgotten. It was flooded and filled with death and sadness. This is where the ghost of hairdressers past gathered her souls, and she was intent on taking mine. I was lead to my own demise. But what the ghost didn't realize is that I had already sold my soul long ago in exchange for good hair.

So, beware of encountering a ghost at Little Heaven. She is still hungry for a soul.

What I love best is that hair comes in an Essentials Pack, which includes a wider range of colors than your usual hair color pack - red, blonde, white, black, brown, etc. It's so much more useful to me than getting four or five shades of the same color.

So, I was having a chat with my friend, Professor Afterthought, who was complaining about how hard it is to find teacher clothes in SL. She is going to be teaching a class this winter in SL, and all she was seeing were "hootchie clothes." She said that being a teacher, she can't afford to "spend the big bucks on pretend clothes." She is worried about looking appropriate for her students, who will probably come to class wearing all kinds of funky get ups.

So, I took her to one of my favorite shops, Sn@tch, to enjoy the most amazing sale ever, and directed her to the "off the rack" area. She had already picked up the gorgeous "Madge" suit from Disco Deals last month. I told her it was a bit low cut and that she could put a cami underneath. :-)

The other outfits are all on sale at Sn@tch for only 50L. They are perfect for someone who needs something modest to wear, and look great on Professor Afterthought. She'll look great teaching next term.

I haven't had much time to blog lately due to RL work, but when I saw the Davinia dress by Dilly Dolls available at Horrorfest, I had to make time. It is so unusual and stunning. All the parts are sculpted, and it features a midriff alpha to create that cinched waist look. It comes with an AO to enhance the look of the gown. I did have to modify my shape and take my muscle and body fat down to 0. There is a shape at Dilly Dolls available that will work wonderfully with the dress if your shape is not modifiable. The dress is also made for viewer 2.0. There are no invisiprims.

I'm also wearing one of my very favorite new skins - the Trinity Paper Skin from Redgrave. I'm a bit late for Jewelry Fair blogging, but the jewelry set is from Lolapop for Jewelry Fair! I hope it's available now at the shop. This cute little pixie cut hair is from Kin.

Has Been is one of my new favorite shops in SL. The styles are clean, simple, and retro. This little dress is only 50L until the 30th. It also comes in violet and blue. I saw this kitty hair from Chichickie on the sl-schnaeppchen blog, and because I love kitties, I had to get it. It's from the Witch's Brew hunt, so it's free! I tinted the kitties eyes and collar to match my dress.

The location I discovered on another blog - Avatars in Motion which features some of the most beautiful sims in SL. I love the giant wolf!

I am in love with the little Dilly Dolls Voodoo Doll Avatar from the Twisted Hunt. This tiny little avatar comes in two versions - a plain and a bloody one. The plain one is the Twisted Hunt gift. The bloody one is the prize for the mini twisted hunt within the shop.

This little voodoo doll has been naughty. She keeps playing in the Roawenwood Twisted Rose Arbor. I think evil voodoo left those skulls behind.

The most beautiful silks I've ever seen in Second Life are made by angel6 Susanti of Angelwing. It is intricate in it's detail and beautiful in its design, with all prim pieces - not alpha textures. Never before have I worn silks, as I am uncomfortable with the connotations of female enslavement, but this gorgeous outfit transcends that and empowers with it's love of the female form.

I envision the evil temptress. She lurks in the depths of the forest, mesmerizing passersby with her dance, ready to seduce, then steal the soul of all those unfortunate enough to cross her path.

"Come with me and enjoy pleasures unknown," she says as she moves closer to her prey. If you happen to catch her gaze, you will become lost in the depths of her eyes. You cannot resist.

Once lost, you will only be alive for a few moments longer, but those moments last an eternity.

The Wear Gray fundraiser starts tomorrow, Sunday, 9/12. Proceeds benefit the American Brain Tumor Association. Sanura Snowpaw started the fundraising campaign after she lost a cousin to brain cancer. This is an important cause. I lost a colleague to brain cancer. He was a professor, and he was loved by his students and his colleagues. He had a way of making everyone feel smart and important, and he made learning fun. I still, sometimes, when I'm walking into work, think I see him out of the corner of my eye. His illness came on suddenly during finals week one year. He just collapsed. His health quickly deteriorated and he passed away about 7 months later. We all miss him terribly, and have named a scholarship in his honor. He always used to say, "Psychology comforts the afflicted. Sociology afflicts the comforted." How true.

Please support wear gray so no one has to lose a friend or family member this way. I wanted to do a blog post from Selenium Pulse as soon as I saw it highlighted on Avatars in Motion. I have to admit I was a little sad when Chic Aeon beat me to it, but not enough to deter me. The sim is just gorgeous, it's great for pictures, and it's definitely worth a visit.

Few things in life are black and white. Sometimes, things are easier when they are. Yes or no, good or bad, positive or negative, right or wrong. The problem is that often the correct answer is, "it depends."

Should you follow your heart or your head? Well, I say always, always go with your head. Follow logic. Use your reasoning skills, and remember, often, you will be forced to make a decision with less than full information. You can fill in the blanks with life experience, intuition, and research.

I didn't just buy bobs at hair fair. I also found some great unusual hairstyles that can be used to create fun looks. I love DarkerSide's retro Victory style. I bought it early on at the fair and noticed it was nice and low arc. I ended up wearing it the entire time I was shopping. I was so excited to hear that House of Munster is back. I fell in love with Lola, with the built in horns. What a wonderful idea! Katat0nik has a wonderful kinda bob style hair. You can change the color of the hair, the streaks, and the bow. It is perfect for matching any outfit. Finally, BC322, which makes great unique styles, released this pink streaked hair - it's a color combination I'm sort of obsessed with at the moment - black and hot pink.

Hair Fair Bobs 3!

This is the end of the Bobs of Hair Fair series of posts. I wasn't able to get all the bobs, because, well, I kinda ran out of money, so I had to make some hard choices. I may go back later to pick up more bobs, though. I am definitely a fan of W&Y Hair, and I really like how this style covers the left eye. I was drawn to the SyDS Hair style because of the little piece of hair that hangs in front of the right eye. The Rock Candy style is short in the back and much longer in the front, one of my favorite RL styles, and HCT's smooth, chic style is very simple and elegant. The last two are styles that I've worn while growing out my bobs in RL. ♥

Here are four more of my favorite bobs from Hair Fair. I love the neck whisps and the side swept bangs with Clawtooth's hair, and the cute pin backed bangs from Surf Co. It's what I do sometimes when I'm trying to grow out my bangs. Uncleweb Studio's hair has that wonderful asymmetric razor cut look. And Curio! I was so excited to see new hair from them! I love the stacked back and the angle towards the mouth. It was the only pack I didn't buy in the black tones, because the vamp colors are so rich.

Plurk Blogger Challenge - In with old

In response to the Plurk Blogger Challenge, I started sifting through my inventory. Wow, do I have some horrible things in there. It's frightening. However, I did find some hidden gems from my noob days. I'm not as old as many of the other bloggers - just about 1 1/2 years in SL, so I can't pull out the stuff from 2006 or 2007. I did find some of my old favorites. I was very thankful for one shop in particular when I was a noob, Dogyanya2 and their lucky boards. It always seemed to hit "I" when I was there! \o/

I just went back and visited the shop again and all three dresses are still on the lucky board. They're cute, well made, and don't look noobish at all. I got my Tesla pumps from Free Dove and for awhile, they were my only shoes. I couldn't stomach the blinging boots that seem to be so popular. I don't remember how I found Dogyanya2, but I took all my friends there when they were new. There is also a nice freebie area on the sim with some other cute dresses, shoes, and accessories.

My very first skin purchase was this Chai skin by Launa Fauna. This skin is no longer available, but Launa Fauna's shop has some beautiful new skins that are among some of my current favorites.. And my first hair purchase (after getting the obligatory free hair from Gurlywood and Diversity was the Milano style from Armidi. I thought it looked a lot like my RL hair, and I wore it ALL the time in my 1st couple months in SL.

Weird Designs, one of my very favorite shops in SL, has a new release, the Moonlight Dress in White and in Black. It is a very pretty outfit with a romantic strappy top, lacy skirt, with a sculpted flower and fishnet hose. I like Weird Designs because the designs are...well...unusual. (You thought I was going to say "weird" didn't you?) I'm also wearing Ticky Tacky's "A Bitch Never Change" earrings and necklace. If you haven't discovered them yet, it is definitely worth a visit. Ticky Tacky is probably the most affordable jewelry shop in SL with high quality items at amazing prices.

Dork!

Yes, I admit it. I'm a dork, although I'm guessing many of you are, too. That's because dorks totally rule! We get good grades, we enjoy learning new things, we get excited about technology and Star Trek, and we are the ones others come to for help. It's probably because we're dorks that we're in SL in the 1st place.

My suspicion is that dorks ascend throughout their lives, while the cool kids peak early and everything goes down hill from there. At least that's what I like to tell myself. I have no proof of this outside of personal observation and anecdotal evidence, but it makes me feel better about myself.

But, there is a price to be paid. Who among us wasn't teased in high school for being a dork? There is a social stigma associated with being the smart kid. I used to lie about my age because I skipped a grade and didn't want to have to explain why I was a senior at 16. I wanted to be one of the cool kids, but no matter what I did or how hard I tried, the dorkiness just overcame me. That's OK though. Through the years, I've learned to embrace it. I'm a dork and I'm proud of it!

I'm so excited by this new hair for Stumblebum by Bubbles Clawtooth that I had to share it. Bubbles does the best bobs in SL, I think.

And, check out how perfectly this hair matches the Tres Blah skin, which coincidently (or not) comes with three different eyebrow colors, light, dark,and red. I wore the freckle layer with the red, because who doesn't love a freckle faced redhead?

I'm also wearing Violet Voltaire's new necklace, the Timekiller Necklace. When I saw her blog post of her new release, I was online and in her shop as soon as possible, because I absolutely love everything that she makes.

I also want to note that Pixeldolls is having a fantastic sale on xstreet. Many of their designs are for sale for only 100L. It's a great time to stock up! I think I might already own almost everything listed, but I did pick up the Anais dress because it's so romantically wonderful.

Playing with Shadows

So, I tried taking pics with shadows enabled in Emerald. It didn't go as planned. Whenever I took a picture using the viewer, the sky would turn black. So, I had use"print screen." Then, I tried to edit my pics in Photoshop, but for some reason, liquify...didn't. So, these are completely raw SL pics - notice the lovely square elbow. LOL.

I'm wearing some new items from WoE. They are celebrating their move to a new sim. The shirt is in the gacha and the jeans are a lucky chair prize. They have tons of new releases!

The jewelry is a new release from ByKay. It's the Kayla set in Blue and it goes really nicely with the WoE shirt, I think. My shoes are also new from A-Bomb for the shoe fair. They are only $150L and are named in honor of fellow blogger Khitten Kurka.

SL Bloggers - Is your avatar more or less your current biological age? Do you portray a younger avatar, or older? Why is this?

RL Bloggers - Do you lie about your age? Do you think you act your age? Are you where you thought you'd be at your current age?

In SL, I have no age. I am a ghost. Boo! So, I suppose I portray an old dead person. I don't know why. It just seemed to be closest to who I am. I never really thought about age in any context other than thinking that some skins make my av look younger and some older. I have no preference for one age over the other.

As a RL blogger, I never discuss my age because it is not relevant to anything I write about. I do act my age, and although I never imagined my life would turn out the way it has, and I am content with where I am at my age.

BBBC Topic #3 - Relationships

Today's Big Bad Blogger Challenge question:

SL Bloggers - How hard do you think it is to find a relationship in SL? If you have an SL relationship, have you met in the physical world? Would you meet them? Do you think it would change your SL relationship if you met?

RL Bloggers - Would you start a relationship with someone you met online? Would you have a problem telling people that's where you met? Do you think it's easier to meet someone online rather than at work or at a club?

Alicia, what the heck are you trying to do to me? 1st you make me try to think positive, and now relationships? Do you WANT me to end up in the mental ward? (LOL).

BTW - the hat I'm wearing is new from Wretched Dollies and I absolutely love it. Star Fairymeadow posted a picture of it on Plurk, and I saved the link to remember to go buy it, but before I could get online, she had already passed a copy of it to me. I just want to give her a special thanks. I look up to her so much. She really has a wonderful shop, and is one of my favorite designers in SL.

I know nothing about SL relationships. I've never had one and probably never will. I'm far too much of a hermit to meet people. I wouldn't even know where to go to meet someone, and I'm very shy. In fact, I wrote a blog post awhile ago about how to not get picked up in SL. It's worked very well for me so far. I'm not opposed to the idea of meeting someone, it's just that when you have a habit of running away whenever someone talks to you, it's kind of difficult.

Now, RL is a whole other story. A long time ago, I met someone online. We lived 500 miles apart, but we would drive to see each other as often as possible. The long distance part sucked, and the relationship didn't exactly end well, but it's a long story that no one would be interested in hearing.

I'm pretty much a failure at relationships. I broke off an engagement over a year ago (which I seem to have a habit of doing), and I have no one in my life now. There are no available men at work, I don't go to clubs, I don't meet people online, so I'm pretty much doomed to be that crazy cat lady spinster that chases small children off her lawn with a broom, and I accept my fate. If someone wants to meet me, he's going to have a lot of walls to knock down to get to me.

BBBC Topic #2 - Being Positive

Today's BBBC challenge is to write about three positive things going on in your Second Life. Well, now, that is a challenge. I'm fairly curmudgeonly by nature, so this is going to take some effort.

Positive thing #1: Operation Squeegee. I am very excited to get to take part in Operation Squeegee. One of the hardest things about disasters like the BP oil spill is that there is so little that one person can do about it. But, if each person does their little bit, together we can all make a difference. So, having the opportunity to take part in this worthy cause is something that means a lot to me.

Positive thing #2: Ok, curmudgeonly Isa is already having trouble with this challenge. I'm sitting here thinking, "Well, I have friends in SL and they're a positive part of my SLife, and I really like my little shop, as lame as it is, and um, I like making stuff and blogging stuff" and all I can think is, "OMG! that all sounds so dorky, goofy, sappy. Barf!" So, yeah, I guess positive thing number 2 is all this sappy stuff. It's all positive. *barf*

Positive thing #3. Bite me! I'm not going to even attempt a 3rd positive thing. My mind just doesn't work like that. All of you fluffy, butterfly, sunshine, happy, woo hoo type people with your high 5s and your squeals of joy can have your positive stuff. I'm going to stick with my curmudgeonly ways. You can't change me! *shakes fist*

Big Bad Blogger Challenge 2010 - Day 1

Alicia Chenaux is challenging bloggers to answer one question each day for a week for the Big Bad Blogger Challenge of 2010.

Today's question(s): Why did you become a blogger? How has it enriched your life?

Before joining SL in January of last year, I had already been blogging for about 3 years. I have a RL blog that I still post to occasionally, and I began a SL blog within a week of joining. I joined SL as an academic because the academic community was all a-buzz about the possibilities of teaching in a virtual world, and as a sociologist/criminologist, I saw a lot in SL that I thought was fascinating. I felt like I needed a place to record my observations, and my 1st post was within a week of rezzing. I am a little embarrassed by those early entirely, horribly, shamefully newbish posts. I haven't deleted them, but they are hidden.

I had no idea at the time that there was a blogging community, or feeds, or anything of the sort. The 1st other blog I found related to SL was Lizzie Lexington's blog and much of what I learned about SL, I learned from reading her blog.

Since it's beginning, this blog has morphed from basic notes on the discovery of SL to fashion and random ponderings. But, at it's beginning, I started blogging just to record my thoughts, nothing more.

I wouldn't say blogging has enriched my life. No. Not blogging. I don't even know that SL has enriched my life. It provided an escape during a tough time in my life. I went through a bad break up last year, and I found that being online took my mind away from my troubles. Blogging and making stuff give me something to do in SL. It's all more of a diversion than an enrichment. Without SL, I'd probably just be watching TV, so at least it's something mentally active. When I think of life enriching things, I think of my beautiful daughter, and my wonderfully affectionate little doggies, I think of how lucky I am to have the family and the job that I have and how lucky I am to have a safe, warm, loving home.

Lolapop and Blue Blood for Etheria

Taking Time

I've always thought it was interesting that, while some argue that virtual worlds are future of the internet, SL residents, seeing the limitations of the medium, flock to other social networking sites to build the community they so crave. If you want to be in the know in SL, there are a few places outside of SL to go (and you HAVE to go outside of SL). I have networked with other people in SL via blogs, forums, Twitter, Facebook, Avatars United, and Plurk. It seems that Plurk, though, is where the action is. In Plurk, residents vent their complaints, offer suggestions, support each other during tough times, advertise their creations, get recommendations for just about everything, and create, invent, fan the flames of, and stifle drama.

So, while SL has the virtual world part in it's pocket, it's always lacked the means to assist residents in building community. Now, with the downsizing of the company, and the loss of so many dearly loved members of the Linden family, there is talk of a new direction for SL. A sort of online, Facebook/Farmville, virtual world in a browser type thing. I think SL is missing the big picture here. They already have the virtual world stuff pretty well down, they have a huge user base with creative talent, and they have loyal customers who like things the way they are (they just want the bugs fixed). Linden Lab just needs to get the social networking side of it down. So, why don't they look to where the residents go, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel?

For avatar connectivity, SL residents don't like Facebook, and there are many reasons why. I don't think they like Farmville much, either, although I could be wrong on that. We do like Plurk. In fact, many of us are addicted to Plurk. I'm so addicted, my Plurk karma is 100! And, most of the people I now know in SL, I've met via Plurk. Why do we like Plurk?

We like it because it maintains our privacy and allows us to be avatars. It allows threaded communciation. We like threads. Unlike in chat, where comments and ideas get lost, threaded communication allows us to complete a thought and allows others to respond to that thought. It allows us to freely - at NO COST - share pictures. It allows us to meet new people that we might never run into in SL. It allows us to fan our favorite people, and maybe, just maybe, they'll be interested in our timeline, too. We can see who the friends of our friends are and see if maybe we might have something in common with them. ALL of these features are absent from SL. Even when we have groups (which you can have in Plurk), we have to rely on group chat, which has NONE of those features I just mentioned. Plurk gives you the ability to form your own community, in the way that works for you. And, community is SO important - for so many reasons.

So, rather than focusing on recreating a new browser based virtual world, perhaps SL should focus on bringing the features of social networking sites like Plurk into their already thriving world. That's just my 2¢, but what do I know. I'm just a sociologist. I'll just be over here taking time to smell the roses and talking about fashion. BTW, isn't my outfit fantastically smexy? It's new from A-Bomb. The shoes are color change.

Oh, and I took super duper high resolution pictures today. See - no jagged edges anywhere. I used Ana Lutitia's "AvatarOpt2 whiter" windlight setting, graphics setting on "ultra" with 8x anti-aliasing and 3200x3200 pictures. Guess where I learned about all this stuff? That's right - PLURK, baby!

Out of the many recent new releases from Sn@tch, this Swirl and Swing outfit is one of my favorites. The skirt has a sculpted inner piece, with flouncy outer layers. The velvety top has a wonderful texture to it. The outfit comes with the top, three different skirts, and the stockings.

I'm also wearing "Oh Darling" from Posh. It was part of their 50L weekend sale. Ticky Tacky earrings and bangles complete the outfit.

Nightshade has just released the Delilah dress. It's a different kind of cage dress with sculpted swirlies making up the skirt. Underneath the cage are sculpted bloomers. The outfit comes with gloves, stockings, and a neck brace. It's an amazing creation. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.

I'm wearing Tuli's new Jade skin, and *sigh* I love it. ♥♥♥ House of Ruin eyes, and W&Y hair complete the outfit. I suppose I'm "back in black" after my short hiatus wearing pink.

For the Black and Blue Fair, which starts on Thursday and runs through July 3rd, Dilly Dolls is releasing these two cute new dresses. They come in, of course, black and blue. The boots are new from Dilly Dolls, too and are color change. The boots are really unusual. You may not be able to tell from the picture, but the boots on the right have little bows on the front with little skulls. The skulls are color change, too and you can set them to invisible. Crystals, and scissors, and mittens on kittens.... I don't think the song goes like that, but it could. How exciting it was to receive this group gift hair from Clawtooth. It gave me another chance to give Mrs. Mittens a ride through SL. I was exploring a cool sim that I found via the Showcase - Enter........The Show. It's an art installation by Sabrinaa Nightfire and the artists of Caerleon. I have no idea what the scissors mean, but it does remind me that I need a haircut in RL.

I'm wearing new stuff. Sn@tch released these cute high waisted poofy skirts last week, and I'm sure you've heard by now that Violet Voltaire is having a sale - everything in her store is 30L. There are new elven skins at Plastik that come in very generous fatpacks. Trubble just released their dirty pearl necklace - I really like the twist at the bottom. Time is NOT on my side

How is your SL going? I've been struggling with finding the time. I think the superpower I would want the most would be to manipulate time. But, then, it would probably end up bad for me, like the Twilight Zone episode with the stopwatch that could stop time. Or I'd meet myself, like that episode of Land of the Lost, and then I'd scare myself silly and run screaming. Or I'd go back in time and end up being squished by a dinosour. Or, I'd run into Keano Reeves. Well, that might be good, so it wouldn't happen. Maybe that's why all I can do is have time on this wanted t-shirt from Nominee.

This outfit is something I would wear in RL. I absolutely love these jeans from RezIpsa - especially the way they come with sock extensions to make then real skinny leg jeans. It speaks for itself - Brilliant!

This group gift skin from I CE COCO is tremendously cute. I've been looking at skins with unusual noses. It seems to me that there are way too many little skinny pinched supermodel noses in SL. I have kind of a thing for larger noses, and I love how this nose is just a little wide. A larger nose can really add character to a face. I also love the slight dark circles under the eyes. More time! If I had more time, I'd get more sleep!
