Waiting for the Christmas Spirit

 My collection of Schadenfreude treat buckets gets bigger by the year!  This year, you can find five of them to start (there are many more to find).  One each at Katat0nik, Schadenfreude, Silent Sparrow, the Lodge, and Nouveau Starlust.  These treat buckets give a piece of candy on click. I put them out in front of my house for trick or treaters!

Horror (Haute) Movie Character

This week's meme was to recreate a movie character in SL.  It is also the beginning of this month's Horror Haute and the theme is Japanese horror.  So, of course, I had to recreate the character of one of my very favorite horror movies, The Ring.

This was made easy because Botanica Diabolique has the TV for sale at Horror Haute for only 99L!  Add to that Stargazer's Yurei Ghost skin and The Stringer Mausoleum's Deep Well Eyes, and you have the makings for a wonderful Samara.

I couldn't find just the right hair for her, so I ended up Photoshopping hair in front of her face.  Hairmakers!  We need a nice Samara hair!

Leaf on the Wind

Leaf on the Wind is a fund raiser for one of my Plurk friends, Scarlet Chandrayaan (owner of Alouette), Amy in RL. She is battling cancer, at only 26 years old, and has a dream to visit London. LotW's goal is to help her get there.  Amy is a sweetheart, and I hope you will support her dream.



I used to live in London. It's one of my very favorite cities (and I've been to a lot of cities). I was an Eastender for awhile, in East Ham, then lived in West Hampstead. I would walk to my job off Oxford street from West Hampstead along Abbey Rd. and cross the street right where the Beatles crossed on the cover of their album.  I did that every Tuesday.  I loved everything about London, but I did have to eventually go back home. I hope Amy can have as wonderful an experience as I had. There is so much to do and see.



When you go to London, Amy, go to the museums, shop on Oxford street, eat greasy food at a cafe, drink a pint in a pub, see a West End show, ride the Tube and a double decker bus, and ask around to see if anyone wants to hire me. I'd move back in a red hot minute.



Oh, and don't forget, they drink their tea with milk over there, and they take their tea very seriously.  I've never had tea as good as when I was in London.  My thoughts are with you, Amy.  I know you'll get there.

Just out for a walk

Little Jillian Jillybean and I went out for a stroll.

She found a sale at Vicarious Vitae where everything is marked down to 10L. She got this cute little mesh outfit in it's entirety for only 10L.  I think she looks so cute!

It's Been Awhille

It's been 2 months since I've been able to blog, and I've missed it so much!  As soon as I could get back in SL, I made a beeline to some of my favorite places.  Of course, first on my list was Sn@tch.

Isa's Digits

Strawberry Singh asked, "Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh?"    It has definitely changed mine:

1. How has the introduction of mesh affected your SL, if at all? Are you open to wearing mesh often or do you still shy away from it?
   
   I very much prefer mesh now, particularly because of the improved texturing - no more fuzziness or blurriness!  
2. Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh? If so, did you go bigger or smaller?
   
   
   

   I created a few custom shapes to fit into certain brands.  If you compare my shape now to the last time I posted my digits, my avatar has become a bit thinner.
   
   
   
   
   I prefer the standard sizing, and I am a medium, which I find a bit odd since I think my avatar looks quite skinny.  My original shape was somewhere between a medium and a large, but the large was way too big, so my shape has become a bit thinner with the introduction of mesh, particularly in the waist.  The most important thing to me is to feel like I have a strong, healthy figure.  I feel like I'm able to achieve that look with a fairly standard medium size.  I did stay with smaller boobs, though.  The standard size boobs look huge to me.
3. Do you think the mesh deformer will resolve a lot of the issues people seem to have with mesh and will it encourage you to wear mesh more often, if you don’t already?
   
   For me, personally, the deformer probably won't make much difference.  Currently, I buy mesh and adjust my shape to fit it (within reason).  The deformer would save me a bit of time and would allow me to wear some brands that just do not fit my shape at all (like I'd have to go to 0 body fat in order to wear them, and that's just too thin for me).  My shape is a fairly standard shape, but I do understand how important shape is to one's sense of avatar identity, and there are some things about my shape that I am unwilling to change because of that (else I wouldn't be "Isa").   So, for those who fall outside the standard sizing, I think the deformer is a very important step.

I Have a New Favorite Tattoo Shop

I've spend the last 2 1/2 years in SL looking for the perfect tattoo.  In that process, I've gathered about...um...a lot of tattoos:

Tattoos that are just right are really hard to find, and don't get me wrong, I have a lot of really amazing tattoos.  But, I was really excited to find a new shop called Cannibelle owned by Annabelle Couturier.  Her tattoos are really well done.  They're not too dark, not too light, not too much, and not too little.  I feel sort of like Goldilocks when she found just the right porridge.

Here I'm showing you my favorites, the first on the left is the Yva tattoo, which was a group gift.  The middle tattoo is called the Joan tattoo.  It comes in black & white or full color with faded and fresh options.  The tattoo on the right is called the Danika tattoo.  It is one of those bright, happy kind of tattoos and it comes in faded and fresh options in black and white only.

Annabelle also makes lingerie, and I am wearing a new release called Agnes.  It comes in a number of light colors and is only 59L per set and only 249L for a fatpack of six colors.
