I'm Weird, Too

Weird Designs, one of my very favorite shops in SL, has a new release, the Moonlight Dress in White and in Black.  It is a very pretty outfit with a romantic strappy top, lacy skirt, with a sculpted flower and fishnet hose.  I like Weird Designs because the designs are...well...unusual.  (You thought I was going to say "weird" didn't you?)  I'm also wearing Ticky Tacky's "A Bitch Never Change" earrings and necklace.  If you haven't discovered them yet, it is definitely worth a visit. Ticky Tacky is probably the most affordable jewelry shop in SL with high quality items at amazing prices.

New Releases at Dilly Dolls!

Dilly Dolls is releasing some wonderful new clothing items - Capris, Tops, and a cute new lolita dress:



The capris come in checkered, tartan and striped styles. The bowler tee is for the guys, but I like it, too. It comes black with different colored stripes and a dragon design on the back. The lolita dress and the tank tops also come in a variety of colors. Very cute stuff! Thanks Ori!

BBBC Topic #3 - Relationships

Today's Big Bad Blogger Challenge question:

SL Bloggers - How hard do you think it is to find a relationship in SL? If you have an SL relationship, have you met in the physical world? Would you meet them? Do you think it would change your SL relationship if you met?

RL Bloggers - Would you start a relationship with someone you met online? Would you have a problem telling people that's where you met? Do you think it's easier to meet someone online rather than at work or at a club?

Alicia, what the heck are you trying to do to me?  1st you make me try to think positive, and now relationships?  Do you WANT me to end up in the mental ward?  (LOL).

BTW - the hat I'm wearing is new from Wretched Dollies and I absolutely love it.  Star Fairymeadow posted a picture of it on Plurk, and I saved the link to remember to go buy it, but before I could get online, she had already passed a copy of it to me. I just want to give her a special thanks.  I look up to her so much.  She really has a wonderful shop, and is one of my favorite designers in SL.

I know nothing about SL relationships.  I've never had one and probably never will.  I'm far too much of a hermit to meet people.  I wouldn't even know where to go to meet someone, and I'm very shy.  In fact, I wrote a blog post awhile ago about how to not get picked up in SL.  It's worked very well for me so far.  I'm not opposed to the idea of meeting someone, it's just that when you have a habit of running away whenever someone talks to you, it's kind of difficult.

Now, RL is a whole other story.  A long time ago, I met someone online. We lived 500 miles apart, but we would drive to see each other as often as possible.  The long distance part sucked, and the relationship didn't exactly end well, but it's a long story that no one would be interested in hearing.

I'm pretty much a failure at relationships.  I broke off an engagement over a year ago (which I seem to have a habit of doing), and I have no one in my life now.  There are no available men at work, I don't go to clubs, I don't meet people online, so I'm pretty much doomed to be that crazy cat lady spinster that chases small children off her lawn with a broom, and I accept my fate.  If someone wants to meet me, he's going to have a lot of walls to knock down to get to me.

Lolapop and Blue Blood for Etheria

~ Etheria – When Jeweler’s Dream ~ is a special collaborative fashion event.  Lolapop! and Blue Blood, two of my favorite shops are participants.  Lola79 Heinricks and Ghanima Uriza collaborated on this wonderful Fleur De Lis themed creation in four colors.



The dress comes with sculpted sleeves, ruffles around the neck, and a prim skirt with sculpted sash and two attachment options.



The jewelry set comes with bracelets, earrings and a necklace.  The necklace, too, has two attachment point options.



This lovely collaborative outfit comes in four color options; red, purple, black, and pink.

Look Mrs. Mittens! Scissors!

Crystals, and scissors, and mittens on kittens....  I don't think the song goes like that, but it could.  How exciting it was to receive this group gift hair from Clawtooth.  It gave me another chance to give Mrs. Mittens a ride through SL.  I was exploring a cool sim that I found via the Showcase - Enter........The Show. It's an art installation by Sabrinaa Nightfire and the artists of Caerleon.  I have no idea what the scissors mean, but it does remind me that I need a haircut in RL.

I'm wearing new stuff.  Sn@tch released these cute high waisted poofy skirts last week, and I'm sure you've heard by now that Violet Voltaire is having a sale - everything in her store is 30L.  There are new elven skins at Plastik that come in very generous fatpacks.  Trubble just released their dirty pearl necklace - I really like the twist at the bottom.  And, the poses below are part of 60L Weekend from Doll Poses.  You get a dozen poses for only 60L - quite a good deal.

Alternative Fair Goodies!

The Alternative Fair starts April 22nd, 2010 on the Sn@tch, Nominee, Pulse, and Kadath sims.  There are over 50 of the best alternative designers in SL participating.  The purpose of the fair is to benefit the charity Nothing But Nets, an organization focused on fighting Malaria.

Many of the designers are donating the proceeds from special edition and new items to the charity, and to entice you even more, some designers have set out some great freebies.  Here is a sneak peek at some of what's available at the fair.

Rediscovering

Just a quick look of the day.  I discovered a new shop, Has Been.  They have the cutest things.  I also rediscovered the joys of Enky's Dollar Store.  I haven't been there since I was new to SL and they have tons of new stuff.  Some of the major designers in SL have donated items for the Dollar Store.  If you haven't been there in awhile, it's definitely worth a visit.

I'm also wearing some new items from Lolapop! - the posture collar and goddess piercing.  I've always loved the symbolism of the triple moon.  It's a celebration of the three stages of a woman's life, the maiden, the mother, and the crone (click the picture to see more detail).  You can find some of SL's most creative jewelry at Lolapop!.

The cute little house I'm standing in is a dollarbie from the Julia Collection Main Store.  It's a sweet little two room fully furnished guest house.  I think her shop is my new favorite furniture shop in SL.  She has some of the most beautiful and creative items I've seen!
